Description
A delightful and cozy peach cobbler topped with an easy buttery brown sugar biscuit topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
- Stir in the melted butter and milk until just combined. The batter will be thick.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit batter over the peach mixture, covering as much of the fruit as possible.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the biscuit batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the biscuit comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a teaspoon of nutmeg to the peach mixture for extra warmth.
- You can also substitute half of the peaches with blueberries or raspberries for a mixed berry cobbler.
