Description
A rich and creamy pasta dish made with garlic and Parmesan cheese, perfect for a quick and indulgent meal.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently for about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir to combine.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For added protein, consider adding grilled chicken or shrimp to the pasta.
- You can substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream for a lighter version, though the sauce will be less rich.
