Description
A delicious and creamy overnight oats recipe inspired by traditional kulfi, perfect for a quick and nutritious breakfast.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
- 1/4 cup chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tablespoon rose water (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir well until all ingredients are fully mixed.
- Add the ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.
- Fold in the chopped pistachios and chopped mango. If using, add the rose water and mix gently.
- Divide the mixture into two jars or airtight containers. Seal them and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours) to allow the oats to soften and absorb the flavors.
- In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If desired, top with additional chopped pistachios, mango, or a drizzle of honey before serving.
Notes
- For added sweetness, mix in a tablespoon of honey or agave syrup before refrigerating.
- Substitute the mango with other fruits like berries or bananas for a different flavor profile.
