Description

A delicious and creamy overnight oats recipe inspired by traditional kulfi, perfect for a quick and nutritious breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup chopped mango (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon rose water (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir well until all ingredients are fully mixed.
  2. Add the ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the mixture. Stir until evenly distributed.
  3. Fold in the chopped pistachios and chopped mango. If using, add the rose water and mix gently.
  4. Divide the mixture into two jars or airtight containers. Seal them and refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4 hours) to allow the oats to soften and absorb the flavors.
  5. In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If desired, top with additional chopped pistachios, mango, or a drizzle of honey before serving.

Notes

  • For added sweetness, mix in a tablespoon of honey or agave syrup before refrigerating.
  • Substitute the mango with other fruits like berries or bananas for a different flavor profile.
