Description
Crispy Air Fryer Broccoli Cheddar Poppers are a delicious and healthy snack or appetizer that combines fresh broccoli and sharp cheddar cheese, all cooked to perfection in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh broccoli florets, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the broccoli cheddar poppers in a single layer in the basket, making sure they are not touching. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry the poppers for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Halfway through cooking, shake the basket gently to ensure even cooking.
- Once cooked, remove the poppers from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as a snack or appetizer.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the mixture.
- You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
