Crispy Cheesy Smashburger Quesadillas are a delicious fusion of classic quesadillas and smash burgers, featuring a crispy exterior and a cheesy, savory filling.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced pickles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Sour cream and salsa for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the tortilla.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the cheese, then top with half of the diced onions, tomatoes, and pickles. Sprinkle more cheese on top, then place a second tortilla over everything.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla using a large spatula, adding the remaining tablespoon of oil if needed. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before cutting into wedges. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make a second quesadilla.
- Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
