Description

Crispy Cheesy Smashburger Quesadillas are a delicious fusion of classic quesadillas and smash burgers, featuring a crispy exterior and a cheesy, savory filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced pickles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Sour cream and salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Place one tortilla in the skillet and sprinkle half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the tortilla.
  3. Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the cheese, then top with half of the diced onions, tomatoes, and pickles. Sprinkle more cheese on top, then place a second tortilla over everything.
  4. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla using a large spatula, adding the remaining tablespoon of oil if needed. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before cutting into wedges. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients to make a second quesadilla.
  6. Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Try using different cheeses like pepper jack or gouda for a unique flavor twist.
