Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the shrimp until coarsely chopped but not pureed. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the green onions, cilantro, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the shrimp. Mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in the breadcrumbs and beaten egg until the mixture holds together.
  4. Form the mixture into small patties, about 2 inches in diameter.
  5. Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the shrimp cakes in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping.
