Ingredients
- 1 cup dill pickle spears, drained and patted dry
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
- Dredge each pickle spear in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the floured pickle spear into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Finally, coat the pickle spear in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Carefully place the coated pickle spears in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried pickles to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or spicy mayo.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a teaspoon of dill weed to the flour mixture.
- You can also substitute the dill pickles with bread and butter pickles for a sweeter twist.
