Description

Crispy Hot Honey Cauliflower Bites are a delicious and crunchy snack or appetizer, featuring cauliflower florets coated in a flavorful batter and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk. Dip each cauliflower floret into the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
  4. After coating in flour, dip the cauliflower back into the buttermilk, then roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated. Place the coated florets on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Drizzle the olive oil over the cauliflower bites. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  6. While the cauliflower is baking, mix the honey and hot sauce in a small bowl.
  7. Once the cauliflower bites are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the hot honey mixture over the top. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, try using a mixture of regular and panko breadcrumbs.
  • For a vegetarian twist, serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
