Crispy Hot Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish, featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a crispy panko crust and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten.
- Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs. Place the coated chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the chicken bites in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through for even crispiness.
- While the chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, and butter. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined.
- Once the chicken bites are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the hot honey sauce over them, tossing to coat evenly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crunch, try adding some grated Parmesan cheese to the panko breadcrumbs.
- Substitute the chicken with shrimp or tofu for a different protein option. Adjust cooking times accordingly.
