A delightful recipe for Crispy Salmon Tataki served with a fresh avocado salsa, perfect for a light meal or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh salmon fillet, skin removed
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Slice the salmon fillet into 1-inch thick pieces. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Brush the mixture onto the salmon pieces.
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon pieces and sear for about 30 seconds on each side until golden brown.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on all sides. Let the salmon cool for a few minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
- For the avocado salsa, combine diced avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt in a bowl. Gently mix to combine.
- To serve, arrange the sliced salmon on a plate and top with avocado salsa.

- For added crunch, serve with crispy wonton chips.
- You can substitute the salmon with tuna for a different flavor profile.
