Description
A delightful and colorful twist on traditional French toast, featuring a crunchy coating of Fruity Pebbles cereal.
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 slices of thick bread (such as Texas toast or brioche)
- 1 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Place the Fruity Pebbles in a separate shallow dish.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Let any excess drip off.
- Press each slice of coated bread into the Fruity Pebbles, making sure to cover both sides evenly.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add two slices of the coated bread to the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread slices.
- Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
Notes
- For extra crunch, try adding a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top before serving.
- You can also substitute the Fruity Pebbles with another favorite cereal for a different flavor twist.
