Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- Divide the mixture evenly into two jars or containers with lids.
- Layer the sliced strawberries on top of the oat mixture in each jar. If using, sprinkle dark chocolate chips on top.
- Seal the jars and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to allow the oats to soak and soften.
- In the morning, stir the oats and enjoy cold, or heat them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds if you prefer them warm.
Notes
- For added texture, mix in a tablespoon of chia seeds before refrigerating.
- Substitute strawberries with your favorite berries or sliced bananas for a different flavor profile.
