Description
A quick and tasty recipe for Delicious Chop Suey Stir-Fry featuring chicken and a variety of colorful vegetables.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pound boneless chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli, bell pepper, snap peas, and carrots. Stir-fry the vegetables for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Add the garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Pour this sauce over the vegetables in the skillet.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir everything together, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and vegetables.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños while stir-frying the vegetables.
- You can also substitute the chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different protein option.
