Description
A delightful twist on traditional cheesecake, combining the flavors of Dutch apple pie with a creamy cheesecake base.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1 cup granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the sour cream and ground cinnamon until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, flour, and salt until evenly coated. Fold the apple mixture into the cream cheese batter.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Sprinkle the rolled oats evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
- Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for an additional hour to cool gradually.
- Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- For a caramel twist, drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving.
- You can also substitute the apples with pears or peaches for a different flavor.
