Description
A quick and delicious stir-fry featuring baby bok choy and mushrooms, perfect for a healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (shiitake or button)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Add the halved baby bok choy to the skillet and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the greens are wilted and tender.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using), and drizzle with sesame oil. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added protein, toss in some cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu during step 4.
- Experiment with different vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for a colorful stir-fry.
