Description

Easy Sweet Mustard Chicken is a comforting, aromatic dish that balances sweet and tangy flavors. Coated in a rich honey-mustard sauce with hints of garlic and rosemary, this tender chicken is a crowd-pleaser that’s quick to prepare and versatile enough to pair with various sides.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 23 rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Sauce
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic, chicken broth, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Coat the Chicken
    • Place the chicken breasts in the sauce, ensuring they are evenly coated.
    • Optional: Let the chicken marinate for 15-20 minutes for enhanced flavor.
  4. Arrange and Bake
    • Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the baking dish.
    • Pour remaining sauce over the chicken. Tuck rosemary sprigs between the chicken breasts.
    • Bake for 25-35 minutes, basting halfway through, until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve
    • Remove rosemary sprigs before serving.
    • Spoon pan sauce over the chicken for extra flavor.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes or a dash of sriracha to the sauce.
  • Substitute fresh rosemary with dried rosemary, thyme, or sage as desired.
  • This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
