Description
A quick and delicious recipe for Egg Roll in a Bowl, featuring ground turkey, fresh vegetables, and savory sauces.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork or turkey
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 4 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari (for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the ground pork or turkey and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- Stir in the coleslaw mix and cook for another 5 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
- Pour in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground meat with crumbled tofu or tempeh.
- You can also add additional vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra crunch and flavor.
