Description

Indulge in these decadent fudgy brownie waffles that combine the rich flavors of brownies with the fun of waffles.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Cooking spray or additional butter for greasing the waffle iron

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron (about 1/2 cup, depending on the size of your waffle iron) and close the lid. Cook according to your waffle iron’s instructions, usually about 4-5 minutes, until the waffles are set and slightly crispy.
  6. Carefully remove the waffles and repeat with the remaining batter.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Notes

  • For a nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
  • Try serving the waffles with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert twist.
