Garbage Bread is the ultimate comfort food, filled with cheese and assorted fillings, all wrapped in delicious pizza dough.
Ingredients
- 2 cups pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup assorted fillings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or any leftovers)
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- Marinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the ricotta layer.
- Add your assorted fillings on top of the cheese, spreading them out evenly.
- Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder over the fillings.
- Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the rolled dough seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the top of the dough with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes to your fillings.
- Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for a unique flavor profile.
