Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and browned.
  4. Stir in the green beans, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle with lemon juice. Toss to combine.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
