Description
A delicious Garlic Butter Steak & Shrimp Pasta recipe that combines tender steak and shrimp with fettuccine pasta in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pound flank steak, sliced thin against the grain
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Season the flank steak with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
- Stir in the cherry tomatoes and cook for an additional 2 minutes until they soften.
- Slice the rested steak into thin strips and return it to the skillet along with the cooked pasta. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and fresh parsley. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute zucchini noodles for the fettuccine.
- Add spinach or arugula to the skillet in the last minute of cooking for added greens and flavor.
