A delicious and easy recipe for Garlic Parmesan Melting Cabbage that is perfect as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 medium head of green cabbage
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and cut the head in half. Place the halves cut side down on a cutting board and slice them into 1-inch thick wedges.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Arrange the cabbage wedges on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the garlic oil mixture generously over each wedge, ensuring they are well coated.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through, until the edges are crispy and the cabbage is tender.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the cabbage wedges. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once done, remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the garlic oil mixture before brushing it on the cabbage.
