Description

A flavorful stir fry featuring tender beef, fresh vegetables, and a zesty ginger sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the bell pepper and broccoli to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine and heat through for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar to the sauce.
  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with tofu or tempeh and adjust cooking times accordingly.
