Description
A flavorful stir fry featuring tender beef, fresh vegetables, and a zesty ginger sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for about 15 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the bell pepper and broccoli to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine and heat through for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve hot over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, add a tablespoon of honey or brown sugar to the sauce.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with tofu or tempeh and adjust cooking times accordingly.
