For the Beef and Bowl:
- ½ tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 green onions, sliced (separate white and green parts)
- 4 cups cooked rice
- Toasted sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, gochujang, gochugaru, brown sugar, soy sauce, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth. Set aside. - Cook the Ground Beef:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned. - Add Green Onions:
Add the white parts of the sliced green onions to the skillet. Sauté for 2 minutes until softened. - Combine with Sauce:
Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked beef and mix well to coat evenly. Cook for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. - Assemble and Garnish:
Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the beef mixture over bowls of cooked rice. Garnish with the green parts of the onions and toasted sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by reducing gochugaru or gochujang for a milder flavor.
- Add vegetables like steamed broccoli or shredded carrots for extra nutrition.
