Ingredients
- 2 cups yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a medium bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until well combined and the mixture is crumbly. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well blended.
- Add the 2 eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the cream cheese mixture.
- Substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer a different nut flavor.
