Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the additional chopped pecans on top of the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
