Description

Delicious gourmet garlic zucchini steaks topped with melted cheese, perfect for a healthy and flavorful dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 large zucchinis
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the zucchinis lengthwise into 1/2-inch thick steaks.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Brush both sides of the zucchini steaks with the garlic oil mixture and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the zucchini from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top of each steak.
  7. Return the zucchini to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

  • For a smoky flavor, grill the zucchini steaks instead of baking them.
