Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
  3. Add the egg yolk and cold water to the flour mixture. Stir until the dough comes together.
  4. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.
  5. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  6. In another bowl, mix the chopped walnuts, honey, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, milk, and beaten egg until well combined.
  7. Pour the walnut mixture into the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden.
  9. Allow the pie to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and ground cinnamon.
  10. Slice and serve at room temperature or chilled.
