Description
A delicious recipe for green bean bundles wrapped in bacon, perfect for a savory side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 slices of bacon
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Take a handful of green beans (about 8-10) and wrap them with one slice of bacon. Secure the bundle with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with the remaining green beans and bacon.
- Place the bacon-wrapped bundles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar. Drizzle this mixture over the green bean bundles.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the green beans are tender. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, use smoked bacon instead of regular bacon.
- Add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
