Description
A delicious and easy-to-make stir-fry featuring ground beef and cabbage, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2 minutes until it becomes translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the shredded cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crunchy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry stacked on plates. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- To add more vegetables, consider including bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas in the stir-fry.
