Description

A delicious and easy-to-make stir-fry featuring ground beef and cabbage, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 2 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet, stirring for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to high and add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in the shredded cabbage, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crunchy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry stacked on plates. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
  • To add more vegetables, consider including bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas in the stir-fry.
