Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned oats
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • ¼ cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • ¼ cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds or chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons shredded coconut

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mash the Bananas

  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth using a fork or potato masher.

3️⃣ Mix the Ingredients

  • Add oats, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, baking powder, and sea salt.
  • Stir until everything is well combined into a thick dough.

4️⃣ Fold in the Chocolate Chips

  • Gently mix in the chocolate chips and any optional add-ins.

5️⃣ Shape the Cookies

  • Use a spoon or cookie scoop to drop small mounds of dough onto the baking sheet.
  • Flatten slightly with the back of a spoon (these cookies won’t spread much).

6️⃣ Bake the Cookies

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

7️⃣ Cool & Enjoy

  • Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Enjoy warm, or store for later!

Notes

✔️ Use Ripe Bananas – The riper the banana, the sweeter and softer the cookies.
✔️ Don’t Overbake – Remove them when the edges are golden brown for the best texture.
✔️ For Extra Moisture – A little extra almond butter will keep them softer for longer.
✔️ Make It Vegan – Use dairy-free chocolate chips and maple syrup instead of honey.
