Description
A delicious and healthy keto-friendly skillet dish featuring ground beef and broccoli, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari (for gluten-free option)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, followed by the beef broth and soy sauce. Stir to combine, cover the skillet, and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
- Remove the lid and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover again for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional seasoning if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider mixing in some crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
