Description
A delicious and easy-to-make hibachi-style zucchini dish sautéed in garlic butter.
Ingredients
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced into half-moons
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil and let it heat for about 1 minute.
- Add the sliced zucchinis to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and get a nice char.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour the garlic butter over the cooked zucchini. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together to coat the zucchini evenly.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the zucchini is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle some red pepper flakes for a spicy kick or add a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
- You can substitute zucchinis with other vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers for a different taste and texture.
