A delicious and creamy homemade green bean casserole topped with crispy onions, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) green beans, drained
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions, divided
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
- Add 1 cup of crispy fried onions and half of the cheddar cheese to the mixture, stirring gently to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 2-quart baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Top the casserole with the remaining cheddar cheese and the rest of the crispy fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, consider adding an additional half cup of milk.
- You can also substitute the green beans with fresh steamed green beans for a fresher taste.
