Description

A delicious and creamy homemade green bean casserole topped with crispy onions, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy fried onions, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, onion powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add 1 cup of crispy fried onions and half of the cheddar cheese to the mixture, stirring gently to combine.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 2-quart baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Top the casserole with the remaining cheddar cheese and the rest of the crispy fried onions.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, consider adding an additional half cup of milk.
  • You can also substitute the green beans with fresh steamed green beans for a fresher taste.
