Made with a hearty beef and sausage patty, marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and crispy pepperoni on a toasty English muffin, every bite is packed with flavor!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground sausage (bulk or Italian)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 oz mushrooms, thickly sliced
- 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp marjoram
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 6 English muffins, split
- 2 oz pepperoni, diced
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef and sausage.
- Season with marjoram, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix well and form 6 equal-sized patties.
- Cook the Patties:
- Heat a large skillet or grill over medium heat.
- Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Sauté the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add mushrooms and onions, cooking until softened (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Simmer the Marinara Sauce:
- Pour marinara sauce into the skillet with mushrooms and onions.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add diced pepperoni and mix well.
- Toast the English Muffins:
- Preheat the broiler on high.
- Place split English muffins on a baking sheet, cut-side up.
- Toast under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Assemble the Pizza Burgers:
- Place a burger patty on each toasted muffin half.
- Spoon marinara sauce and sautéed veggies over the patty.
- Sprinkle generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Broil Until Cheese is Melted:
- Place assembled burgers under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and serve hot.
