Description
A delicious side dish featuring Brussels sprouts roasted to perfection with a sweet honey glaze and crispy bacon.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 ounces bacon, chopped
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, chopped bacon, olive oil, honey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are well coated.
- Spread the mixture evenly on a large baking sheet in a single layer.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon and add chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
- Experiment with different sweeteners like maple syrup or agave nectar in place of honey for a unique flavor twist.
