Description

A decadent dessert combining layers of rich chocolate brownie, creamy cheesecake, and crushed Oreo cookies, topped with chocolate syrup and whole Oreos.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10 cookies)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • Whole Oreo cookies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth.
  4. Add the flour and salt to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
  6. While the brownies are cooling, prepare the cheesecake layer. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  7. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  8. Once the brownies are completely cooled, cut them into bite-sized squares. In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer the brownie squares, cheesecake mixture, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheesecake.
  9. Garnish the top with whole Oreo cookies and additional chocolate syrup. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a layer of chocolate pudding between the brownie and cheesecake layers.
