Description
A decadent dessert combining layers of rich chocolate brownie, creamy cheesecake, and crushed Oreo cookies, topped with chocolate syrup and whole Oreos.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10 cookies)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- Whole Oreo cookies for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth.
- Add the flour and salt to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
- While the brownies are cooling, prepare the cheesecake layer. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- Once the brownies are completely cooled, cut them into bite-sized squares. In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer the brownie squares, cheesecake mixture, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheesecake.
- Garnish the top with whole Oreo cookies and additional chocolate syrup. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a layer of chocolate pudding between the brownie and cheesecake layers.
- You can substitute the Oreos with your favorite chocolate sandwich cookies for a fun twist.
