Description

A delicious recipe for sweet chili salmon balls served with a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and bones discarded
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • For the creamy garlic sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, finely chop the salmon fillet until it resembles a paste.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs, green onions, sweet chili sauce, beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  4. Form the salmon mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Once the skillet is hot, add the salmon balls in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  6. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  7. For the creamy garlic sauce, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the salmon balls warm with the creamy garlic sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the salmon mixture.
  • Substitute the salmon with canned salmon for a quicker option, just make sure to drain it well before mixing.
