Description
A delicious recipe for sweet chili salmon balls served with a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and bones discarded
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- For the creamy garlic sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, finely chop the salmon fillet until it resembles a paste.
- Add the breadcrumbs, green onions, sweet chili sauce, beaten egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Form the salmon mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the salmon balls in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- For the creamy garlic sauce, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the salmon balls warm with the creamy garlic sauce drizzled on top or on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the salmon mixture.
- Substitute the salmon with canned salmon for a quicker option, just make sure to drain it well before mixing.
