Description
Japanese Hamburg Steak is a flavorful dish made with a blend of ground beef and pork, seasoned and served with a delicious sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- For the sauce:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a thick oval patty.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are browned and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the sauce by combining ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve the hamburg steaks drizzled with the sauce.
Notes
- For added flavor, try mixing in some grated carrots or chopped mushrooms into the meat mixture.
- Serve the hamburg steak with a side of steamed rice or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
