Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cups cauliflower florets
- 8 ounces Italian sausage, casing removed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli and cauliflower florets. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they are slightly tender.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well combined.
- In the greased baking dish, layer the sautéed broccoli and cauliflower, followed by the cooked sausage. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses over the top of the vegetable and sausage mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding cooked bacon bits or diced bell peppers to the mixture before baking.
- You can also substitute the sausage with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
