Description
Loose Meat Tavern Sandwiches are a delicious and easy-to-make dish featuring seasoned ground beef served on toasted hamburger buns, perfect for a casual meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: mustard, ketchup, pickles, shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.
- While the meat mixture is simmering, toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
- Once the meat is ready, spoon a generous amount onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add any optional toppings as desired.
- Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper or some diced jalapeños to the meat mixture.
- To make it a complete meal, serve with a side of coleslaw or potato chips.
