Description

Crispy fries topped with a spicy, flavorful blend of Cajun seasonings, cheese, and a zesty sauce make these Louisiana Voodoo Fries a deliciously addictive snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the cut fries with vegetable oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the fries are baking, mix the sour cream and hot sauce in a small bowl to create a zesty dipping sauce.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  6. Remove the fries from the oven and drizzle with the sour cream and hot sauce mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding cooked and crumbled bacon on top of the cheese before baking.
  • You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with pepper jack for a spicier kick.
