Description
Crispy fries topped with a spicy, flavorful blend of Cajun seasonings, cheese, and a zesty sauce make these Louisiana Voodoo Fries a deliciously addictive snack or side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes, cut into fries
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, toss the cut fries with vegetable oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the fries are baking, mix the sour cream and hot sauce in a small bowl to create a zesty dipping sauce.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove the fries from the oven and drizzle with the sour cream and hot sauce mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding cooked and crumbled bacon on top of the cheese before baking.
- You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with pepper jack for a spicier kick.
