Description
A refreshing and colorful Margarita Slushie recipe featuring layers of red, white, and blue flavors, perfect for impressing guests.
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
- 2 cups ice
- 1 cup tequila
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Lime wedges and fresh fruit for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup of ice, 1/4 cup of tequila, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and 1 tablespoon of simple syrup. Blend until smooth. Pour into a pitcher and set aside.
- Rinse the blender, then add the frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup of ice, 1/4 cup of tequila, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and 1 tablespoon of simple syrup. Blend until smooth.
- In a large glass or cup, layer the strawberry mixture at the bottom, followed by the blueberry mixture on top.
- For the white layer, blend the remaining ice with the remaining tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup until slushy. Carefully spoon this mixture on top of the blueberry layer.
- Garnish with lime wedges and fresh fruit as desired. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute tequila and triple sec with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water.
- You can also add a splash of coconut cream to the white layer for a creamy texture.
