Delicious Mint Chocolate Chip Snowball Cookies that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies (optional)
- Additional powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and peppermint extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies if using.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust the cookies with additional powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to the dough for a chocolate version.
- To make these cookies festive, substitute the crushed peppermint candies with colored sprinkles or holiday-themed decorations.
