Description
Nutter Butter Bars are a creamy and crunchy dessert made with peanut butter, Nutter Butter cookies, and topped with melted chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups Nutter Butter cookies, crushed
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add the crushed Nutter Butter cookies to the mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Spread the mixture evenly into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish, pressing down firmly to create an even layer.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer in the baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set.
- Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For a crunchy texture, consider adding chopped peanuts or pretzels to the peanut butter mixture.
- You can substitute the Nutter Butter cookies with any other sandwich cookies for a different flavor profile.
