Description
A classic dessert featuring sweet peaches baked under a buttery, golden crust.
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, then pour the batter over the butter without stirring.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg along with the cinnamon for extra warmth.
- You can also substitute half of the peaches with blueberries or blackberries for a mixed berry cobbler.
