Description

A classic dessert featuring sweet peaches baked under a buttery, golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Toss to coat and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, then pour the batter over the butter without stirring.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg along with the cinnamon for extra warmth.
  • You can also substitute half of the peaches with blueberries or blackberries for a mixed berry cobbler.
