Description

A delicious and savory dish featuring tender beef marinated in soy sauce and oyster sauce, stir-fried with onions and scallions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 scallions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the scallions, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for another minute.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and add the rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of chili oil or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for heat.
  • You can substitute flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak for a different texture.
