Description
Deliciously gooey cookie bars packed with peanut butter and chocolate flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate peanut butter cups, chopped (such as Reese’s)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped peanut butter cups and semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
- You can substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate or butterscotch chips for a different taste.
