Description

Indulge in the rich layers of chocolate and creamy peanut butter with these decadent Peanut Butter Truffle Brownies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon milk (optional, for consistency)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture, stirring until combined.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk to reach a spreadable consistency. Spread the peanut butter mixture over the brownie layer in the pan.
  6. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares. For best results, chill in the refrigerator for an hour before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Add chopped nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt on top for added texture and flavor.
