Description

Delicious Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches loaded with ribeye steak, melted provolone cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • Optional: hot peppers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
  4. Return the cooked onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the steak, mixing everything together.
  5. Reduce heat to low and place the provolone cheese slices on top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  6. While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through.
  7. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture into each roll, making sure to include plenty of melted cheese. If desired, add hot peppers for extra flavor.
  8. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use lean turkey or chicken instead of ribeye steak.
  • You can also add mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • For a spicy kick, try adding jalapeños or a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
