Description
Delicious Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches loaded with ribeye steak, melted provolone cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
- Optional: hot peppers for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and cooked through.
- Return the cooked onions and bell peppers to the skillet with the steak, mixing everything together.
- Reduce heat to low and place the provolone cheese slices on top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- Spoon the cheesesteak mixture into each roll, making sure to include plenty of melted cheese. If desired, add hot peppers for extra flavor.
- Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use lean turkey or chicken instead of ribeye steak.
- You can also add mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
- For a spicy kick, try adding jalapeños or a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
